This disclaimer explains the limits of massage and rehabilitation services provided by Viktor Semenov Massage & Rehabilitation. By booking or attending a session, you confirm that you have read and understood the information below.

1. Not a Substitute for Medical Care

Massage and rehabilitation services are intended to support general wellbeing, recovery, mobility, muscular tension relief and physical comfort. They are not a substitute for medical diagnosis, medical treatment, physiotherapy, psychotherapy, emergency care or advice from a GP, consultant or other qualified healthcare professional.


2. No Medical Diagnosis

Viktor Semenov Massage & Rehabilitation does not diagnose medical conditions, prescribe medication, provide medical treatment or advise clients to stop medication or medical care.

Any information provided during a session is for general educational and treatment-support purposes only and should not be treated as medical advice.


3. Client Responsibility

You are responsible for providing accurate, complete and up-to-date information about your health before and during treatment.

  • Current or previous injuries
  • Medical conditions
  • Recent surgery
  • Pregnancy
  • Medication
  • Allergies
  • Skin conditions or infections
  • Cardiovascular or neurological conditions
  • Any advice or restrictions given by your GP or healthcare provider

Failure to disclose relevant information may increase risk and may affect the safety or suitability of treatment.


4. When to Seek Medical Advice

You should seek advice from a GP or qualified healthcare professional before booking treatment if you have any concerns about whether massage or rehabilitation work is suitable for you.

You should seek urgent medical attention if you experience symptoms such as:

  • Chest pain or severe shortness of breath
  • Sudden weakness, numbness or loss of coordination
  • Severe unexplained pain
  • Suspected fracture or serious injury
  • Unexplained swelling, redness or heat in the leg
  • Fainting, dizziness or sudden confusion
  • Fever with severe pain or signs of infection

In an emergency, call 999 or seek urgent medical care.


5. Contraindications and Precautions

Massage or rehabilitation treatment may not be suitable in some circumstances, or may need to be modified. Treatment may be refused, postponed or adapted where there is a potential risk.

This may include, but is not limited to:

  • Fever, infection or contagious illness
  • Recent surgery or acute injury
  • Suspected blood clot or deep vein thrombosis
  • Uncontrolled high blood pressure
  • Severe inflammation or unexplained swelling
  • Open wounds, burns, rashes or skin infections
  • Certain heart, neurological or vascular conditions
  • Pregnancy-related concerns
  • Severe osteoporosis or fragile tissue conditions
  • Any condition requiring medical clearance

6. Results May Vary

Results vary from person to person. No guarantee is made that treatment will remove pain, cure a condition, prevent injury, restore full function or achieve a specific outcome.

Progress may depend on factors including your condition, lifestyle, activity level, medical history, consistency of treatment and compliance with professional medical advice.


7. Possible Reactions After Treatment

Some clients may experience temporary reactions after massage or rehabilitation treatment. These may include:

  • Temporary soreness or tenderness
  • Tiredness or relaxation response
  • Mild bruising in some cases
  • Temporary increase in sensitivity
  • Changes in mobility or body awareness

If symptoms are severe, unusual or do not improve, you should seek medical advice.


8. Consent to Treatment

By attending a session, you confirm that you consent to receiving massage or rehabilitation treatment. You may ask questions, request changes, refuse any technique or stop the session at any time.

Treatment will only continue while consent is present.


9. Treatment of Minors

Clients under 18 must have consent from a parent or legal guardian. A parent or legal guardian may be required to be present during the session.


10. Professional Boundaries

All services are strictly professional. Inappropriate behaviour, sexual comments, requests or misconduct will result in immediate termination of the session. No refund will be provided in such circumstances, and future bookings may be refused.


11. Scope of Service

Services may include massage, soft tissue techniques, mobility-focused work, recovery support, sports massage and general rehabilitation support within the therapist’s training and professional competence.

If your needs appear to be outside the scope of service, you may be advised to seek support from a GP, physiotherapist, consultant or other relevant healthcare professional.


12. Limitation of Liability

Services are provided with reasonable care and skill. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Viktor Semenov Massage & Rehabilitation is not liable for loss, injury or worsening of symptoms caused by inaccurate or incomplete information provided by the client, failure to follow medical advice, failure to disclose contraindications, or actions taken outside the treatment session.

Nothing in this disclaimer limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under the laws of England and Wales.

This disclaimer is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
